The method returns a new array and it does not change the original array, selected elements of the original array are copied into a new array. splice (start, deleteCount, item1, item2, itemN) slice () method returns the selected elements in an array, as a new array. The array returned by slice() returns a shallow copy, meaning that any references within the original array will just be copied over as-is, and won't allocate memory for completely new objects.
